Rabbi Yoseph Oziel was born in Rabat, Morocco. He moved with his family to Montreal, Canada in 1976.
He attended the Yeshiva Gedola of Montreal both for high school and for post-secondary education.
In 1992, he married Muriel Amar.
Rabbi Oziel received his Semicha from Rav Shlomo A. Altusky Shlit”a and Bet HaMedrash LeHora’a.
After receiving Semicha he held a part-time position as Rabbi at Centre Communautaire Juif.
In the summer of 1997, Rabbi Oziel and his family moved to Toronto to accept the position of Rabbi of Petah Tikva Congregation.
Rabbi Oziel is a member of the Rabbinical Vaad HaKashrut of COR and of the Vaad HaHinnuch of Eitz Chaim Schools.
The Rabbi and his wife have two beautiful sons, Avraham and Moshe; and in June of 2017, Avraham was married to Deborah Benlezrah. Avraham and Deborah have 2 two sons of their own, Yoseph and Aharon.
